SUMMARY:Live Fire - 2025
DESCRIPTION:Ladies and Gentlemen of the 69th\, \n\n\n\nOur first gathering of the year is upon us. Live Fire is an amazing event with target and competition musket shooting. This is not a reenactment event that’s open to the public\, but more of a range day for the muskets. Saturday will be the only day for civil war shooting. Sunday will be for post-civil war and pre WWI firearms. For those who haven’t had the chance to attend prior\, now is your chance to see the elephant! The Quartermaster form is at the bottom of this page\, so please confirm your attendance as soon as possible. \n\n\n\nWe will be arriving in the afternoon/ evening on Friday January 16 and staying through Sunday January 18. We will be on the range in full uniform and accoutrement\, however camp will be more relaxed and does not need to be period correct. There will most likely be a fire pit at the event so firewood would be great to bring. We will not be hosting a company mess\, please plan accordingly for your own meals. Oftentimes\, people bring their Christmas trees for a bonfire. Additionally\, please bring eye and ear protection\, and have them on you at the range. You must supply your own correctly sized and lubricated ammunition\, as well as powder and caps. Track of the Wolf is excellent for said items. If you are new\, or it has been a while since your last live fire\, please reach out to any of the Command Group for all questions. Safety is a key focus of these events\, if you do not know something please ask!  \n\n\n\nThe current weather prediction is mid 60’s during the day and dropping to high 30’s early 40’s at night. I will update you all during the following calls about the weather.  \n\n\n\nHappy New Year everyone! \n\n\n\nYOS\, Bill Cieslak

SUMMARY:AGM - 2025
DESCRIPTION:It is that time of year again! We are pleased to announce the upcoming CRAIC Annual General Meeting on December 6th. \n\n\n\nThe AGM will be held at fabulous Fort Duncan\, who\, year after year\, have proven to be the most gracious of hosts. Fort Duncan is centrally located in Carlsbad\, no more than a day by horse for most of the unit. \n\n\n\nThe AGM will begin promptly at 1200. Please make sure you arrive in a timely manner. There is much to discuss\, and much more after in the way of food\, camaraderie\, and our famous (or infamous) white elephant gift exchange. \n\n\n\nThere is no need to go over-the-top with the white elephant gifts; keep the prices reasonable and the gifts in good taste.  \n\n\n\nCody will be posting the AGM on the Quartermaster Site. Please indicate your intentions and let us know how many will be attending so the Duncans can plan appropriately.  \n\n\n\nA sincere ‘thank you’ is in order for Katie and Chip\, for their willingness to open their home to us yet again.  \n\n\n\nI look forward to seeing everyone there\, in warm spirits and good health. \n\n\n\nYOSChia \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAGM Documents\n\n\n\nComing soon!

SUMMARY:Live Fire - 2025
DESCRIPTION:Live fire 2025 is a go! \n\n\n\nFor those who have been\, you know what an incredible time Live Fire can be. For those who have never participated\, now is your chance to really “see the elephant!”. Live Fire is an event that is hosted in Imperial County on an open range. We do target shooting and competative events with our muskets. Below\, I have Kenneth Claverlie’s informational email\, which covers cost\, schedule\, and amenities. \n\n\n\nWe will be arriving on Friday and staying through Sunday. Camp is a little more relaxed as far as being period-correct\, as there is no public at this event. However\, on the field for competitions\, we will be in full uniform and accoutrements. Unlike previous years\, Saturday is the only day for Civil War period shooting. There should be an opportunity to shoot modern weapons on Sunday. \n\n\n\nIn addition to your normal Civil War kit and kaboodle\, bring eye protection (shooting glasses) and ear protection (ear plugs\, muffs\, etc.). Please also bring appropriately-sized lubricated bullets\, in addition to powder and caps. If you’re looking for a place to purchase these things\, I recommend Track of the Wolf. If you’re new to Live Fire\, please reach out to one of us in the Command Group! We are happy to share advice\, ammunition\, instructions\, and all that you may need to make this unique event as safe and accessible to you as possible.  \n\n\n\nLive Fire is January 17-19\, (the Reverend\, Doctor) MLK (Junior) weekend. The event is hosted at the Imperial Valley Rifle and Pistol Association Range at 2250 Wheeler Rd\, Imperial\, CA 92251. In previous years\, the weather has been clear and in the mid 70s during the day\, dropping to the mid 40s overnight. Historically\, we have also been treaded with a few practice shows by the Blue Angels. We will not be hosting Company Mess\, so everyone will be on their own for chow. The Quartermaster Page will begin to accept entries soon\, so please be on the lookout for that. It’s also not too late to get yourself a bunch of minnieballs as a last-minute Christmas gift.Lastly\, I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas\, Happy Holidays\, and a Happy New Year! May you and yours be well and in good health. \n\n\n\nYOS Chia \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather permitting\, we will hold the Live Fire on January 18\, 2025.  You can arrive on Friday and camp and can stay until Sunday.  Entry fee is $15.00 for the Saturday shoot.  We will have potable water\, some firewood and porta potties.  We cannot accommodate the artillery this year and the Cavalry program will be a little reduced. \n\n\n\nHere is the program: \n\n\n\nINFANTRY0900 Safety talk0915 Range is open for Practice1000 Sharpshooter Match. Gong targets set from 50 yards to 300 yards.1100 Team Match.  Two man team shooting at falling targets.  Fastest time to knock down all the targets wins.1300. Fire by File:  1st Team that cuts a 4X4 post in half wins.1500:  Hand of Death Match.   \n\n\n\nCAVALRY0900 Safety talk1000 Sharpshooter Match. (you can join the infantry)1300 Team pistol1400 Advanced Skirmish line. \n\n\n\nThis will be a period correct camping event with uniforms worn while competing. There is a no hook up camping area a little to the south for those that need modern luxury.   \n\n\n\nPlease make sure that you have lubed and sized your bullets for the match.  We will have a gun safety inspection during registration.  \n\n\n\nPlease let me know if you are attending so I can get a handle on the numbers that will shoot.   \n\n\n\nBest Regards\,Ken

SUMMARY:St. Patrick's Day Parade - 2024
DESCRIPTION:Here we are\, fast approaching the 42nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival – just one day before The Day itself – on March 16!  Last year’s event was a tremendous success despite some challenging weather\, but\, as Parade Chair\, I have ordered up a more typical San Diego day for our enjoyment.  This year’s theme is “Unity with Peace in Ireland\, and Beyond”; recognizing the many daunting challenges people around the world face finding a home filled with love and goodwill rather than fear and violence. Each and every one of us must do what we can to make that dream a reality.  It is in that spirit that we will come together in our little corner of the globe (that being 6th and Laurel) to celebrate this “day of the Irish”\, and the continued efforts of so many people to promote peace there\, and around the world. As usual\, the parade will start at 10:30 a.m. on Fifth Avenue at Laurel Street. The festival grounds will open at 9:00 a.m. with live entertainment throughout the day\, ending at 6:00 p.m. We will have an expanded kids area and the entire venue will be open to family members of all ages. Please join us in this celebration\, bring your friends\, and wear a little of the green! Tim RileyParade Chairhttp://www.stpatsparade.org/
